LOL

Due to the fact that I was sick for most of the time that I was in Rome, I didn’t get out too much and when I did, I kept it pretty low-key.

On the days that I DID get out, we got to explore my favorite place in the ENTIRE WORLD!!! When I was a senior in high school, I got to travel through Europe and I fell IN LOVE with Rome. I wish I wasn’t sick this time because it would have been incredible to explore more of my favorite city… Next time 😉

The architectural beauty of this ancient city is beyond words. Walking through the ancient ruins really made me feel like I was traveling back in time. I’ve never been in a place that has done that for me like Rome has.

It was nice to be out in the fresh air, taking in the foreign smells… Well, not foreign to me because I eat Italian food like my life depends on it haha…

My family and I took a guided tour of the Colosseum, learning all about what happened there thousands of years ago. I mean, it’s definitely something you could read about in a history book but it’s better if you get to see it in person… Just sayin’.

Our next day, we went to listen to Pope Francis preach at the Vatican. Now, how many people get to say that they’ve gone to mass twice where the Pope has spoken??? I don’t think that many.. I definitely feel blessed that I can say I’ve done that. After mass, we went and got wine (obviously). The food in Italy makes my heart fly. SOOOOOO good and sooooo yummy.

We also visited the Trevi Fountain which, on both occasions that I have visited it, I’ve felt very much like Lizzie McGuire. So that’s a huge plus to Rome.

Actually, the only reason I wanted to go to Rome was because of the Lizzie McGuire Movie, so thank you Hilary Duff.

I have somewhat of a down week this week so HOPEFULLY I will be able to post the last leg of my trip: Barcelona!

Happy Sunday and enjoy your new week!

Sincerely,

Kate
