Also, this is my feeble attempt at being a consistent blogger. Life is crazy and having multiple other jobs makes it difficult to put the time and energy into this that I would like. On a positive note, I’ve been more consistent this year than I was last!! Baby steps!

Okay, polka dots.

I’m not big on long, pencil skirts. I’m typically your denim mini skirt kind of gal but I was drawn to this one. The moment I saw this Polka Dot Pencil Skirt, I thought of the endless possibilities of outfits that could come with it.

Outfit #1: I paired this cute orange Urban Outfitters crop top with it in order to bring a pop of SPRING to the outfit. I am the QUEEN of dressing down skirts and dresses by adding a sneaker. Here I added the sneaker of all sneakers (imo), the Fila ‘Disrupter.’ Keeping it casual, but spunky!

Outfit #2: When I laid eyes on this cropped polka dot sweater (which is now on sale, by the way !!!), I knew it would be SO rad to pair it with my smaller polka dot skirt. Big polka dot + little polka dot = one happy camper! This look felt a little more elevated so I paired it with a cute ankle boot to keep that vibe. I didn’t add any accessories, mainly because I felt that the polka dots spoke volumes. If you wanted though, a cute pair of gold earrings. I say earrings because a necklace would be TOO much accessorizing but earrings would be just right, kind of like Goldilocks.

Outfit #3: Again with the dressing things down… Here I paired the skirt with this New York “neighborhood” graphic tee and some New Balance sneakers, all blue because monochromatic looks are so hot and we all need to hop back on that band wagon. This is a quick and easy look if you’re on the go but still want to add a little umph to your day.

Outfit #4: This is the look that I feel was the most dressed up of all of them. Granted, I made it spunky (as per usual) but it’s dressy nonetheless. I paired a white men’s short sleeve button down with the skirt. Add some Anne Klein POLKA DOT HEELS (how the heck I just so happened to stumble upon those beauties, I don’t know) and you’ve got an outfit that’s ready for work and then cocktails right after!!

Outfit #5: This last outfit may be one of my favorite outfits of all time. Denim always makes me happy so having this adorable oversized Madewell denim jacket really put the whole thing together. I found this sexy little silk slip dress from Urban Outfitters and thought it would be fun to add into the mix! Sure enough, when I have fashion visions they are usually right and the outfit came through even greater than I could have hoped! A little hat and some heels and you are ready for a night out on the town with the gals or fellas!

So that’s my two cents on polka dots and how to wear them. They make me happy and add some fun to my wardrobe and I hope they can bring you the same joy should you decide to invest in some PD.

I hope you have a lovely weekend and spend time with the people who matter most to you.

Sincerely,

Kate
